Skinnygirl: Bethany Frankel, of Real Housewives (and her own spinoff show) fame, has her own line of Skinnygirl wines now. I almost didn’t want to post about it and give it more attention, but news is news. The wines are 100 calories per serving. I couldn’t begin to tell you what a true serving size of wine is, or its typical caloric count is, so who knows if that’s true.
Vermouth and lillet: Learn about white vermouth with The Washington Post. It’s different from sweet or dry vermouth, and you might like it. Honestly, it’s ok (and good) to drink on its own. Today, people think of vermouth is something you lightly mix with a martini, but at one point, it used to be a stand alone drink. It’s wine after all! Might I also recommend lillet? A cousin of vermouth, I’ve found it to be delicious. It’s the key to the Daniel Craig James Bonds’ favorite martini spin…the Vesper. I’ve loved it, and it’s what I order whenever I’m in the mood for a martini, so long as the bar stocks lillet.
